PLEASE NOTE: Registration packets will NOT be distributed to leaders this year! HEALTH FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE for girls and parents.
*Note: Girls registering as Program Aides (girls entering 7th Grade in Fall 2024) will be charged the same registration cost as younger campers this year. Program Aides are still considered campers and fill out the camper registration form, NOT the counselor form.
Council requires all campers to be registered with Girl Scouts regardless of if you are currently in an active troop or not in a troop presently. Current GSUSA/GSHPA Registration costs $25 and it will cover you for 1 yr. If your daughter is not already registered, click the following purple link to register online. : GSHPA ONLINE Registration
If campers have friends who would like to participate in camp, but are not currently involved in Girl Scouting, they are more than welcome! However, in order to participate, friends MUST also register with GSHPA. This can be done online at http://www.gshpa.org/registration.html. This registration cost would be $25 in addition to the $65 camp fee.

How are camper units chosen?
Units are typically composed of 5-10 campers with 2-3 counselors. Each unit consists of girls who will be entering the same academic grade in the fall of the camp year. Because campers are not registered for camp along with their entire troops, we do not organize units by troop numbers. Once we receive all camper registration forms, we separate forms by grade level. Then, we break each grade level into individual units making sure to keep at least 2 girls of the same troop OR 2 girls who go to the same school together. This way, we do our best to make sure every girl knows at least one other girl in her unit. Unfortunately, we cannot grant requests for particular girls to be placed into the same unit together. When dealing with 120 campers, this would be too difficult and unfair to others. Much like a sports team, even girls new to camp will quickly adapt to making new friends within their units. And because we operate within the same general vicinity, it is very likely campers will get to mingle with their friends throughout the week.
Weather Cancellation Policy
Please note that although we always hope for cooperative weather during the camp week, sometimes mother nature does not always give us the bright, sunny weather we'd like. Camp Mocanaquah will NOT be cancelled due to rain showers; as Girl Scouts our motto is to "be prepared" and we encourage girls and counselors to dress for the weather (raincoats, ponchos, sweatshirts, etc). There is a covered pavilion we will congregate if the rain becomes temporarily heavy. HOWEVER, we WILL decide to cancel for the day if there are heavy downpours, lightening, hail, etc. NEPA can often be unpredictable, but we will do our best to alert parents and guardians of a cancelled camp day as early as possible so that arrangements can be made. The $65 camper fee is non-refundable due to weather cancellations. We apologize for any inconvenience. The pavilion space at Frances Slocum State Park is reserved and paid for nearly a year in advance out of camp funds, and this fee is non-refundable to us. Additionally, by the time the camp rolls around, we have already purchased 90% of the supplies for the week and simply do not have the ability to refund camper fees at that time. Thank you for your understanding. Please reach out to us should you have any questions.
